Earache in self isolating child

My just turned 5 year old is self isolating till the 28th due to a positive case in her year group. She is complaining of a sore ear today, which makes sense as she has had a snotty cold for ages. No fever, no other COVID symptoms. Would you contact gp for possible ear infection? Give calpol today and see how she is tomorrow? They won't want to see her understandably without a negative COVID test, would you get her tested for that?!
I'm usually happy to go for a wait and see approach but don't want her to be in pain all over Xmas!

Yes I would contact GP.
I know ours would come out in full PPE and look in her ear in the car park/through the car window or they would give a prescription to be taken to pharmacy if it didn’t settle. Obviously not all surgeries will do the same but definitely worth speaking to someone. You don’t want to end up speaking to OOH at 3am Christmas morning with a LO screaming in pain Sad I hope she feels better soon

Thanks @SilentScreenQueen she has been absolutely fine and leaping around all afternoon so fingers crossed she was just feeling a bit down about not being allowed out and wanted some attention! Your doctors sounds ace by the way!
