3 year old - persistent tummy ache

Hello,

I'm wondering if anyone has any advice or experience. My DD is three and for the last few weeks has complained that her tummy hurts but overall she seems fine.

I took her to the doctor who said it was likely just constipation and he couldn't feel anything wrong and she didn't seem bothered by him pressing on her tummy. To me, her bowel habits seem normal but she's mentioning the pain more often.

My question is, should I be concerned something is wrong or is it possible she's saying it for attention? Is there anything I should be looking out for?

Thank you

Hello,

It might be worms? My daughter continued to complain of a tummy ache before we discovered she had threadworms. You may want to check x

Thank you, I hadn’t considered that. I’ll look in to it.

Hi @Teakind

How is ur dd getting on now? Just come across your post and been having the same issue with our dd who is 5.

Been complaining on and off about a painful tummy, been on and off with her food and drink. Actually called 111 yesterday as it was really painful and they asked us to take her in to rule out appendix.

They said tummy was soft, and wasnt hurting at all when pressed. Also did urine test which showed no uti. Also blood test and the only thing showing was slightly elevated white cells.

So they said could be constipation, or possibly the aftermath of a virus as apparently kids have lots of sensitive glands in their tummy and a virus can make them act up a bit. She will get an appointment for an ultrasound just to check her over as has been going on a few weeks now.

How is ur dd now? Did you get to the bottom of it?x
