8 week vaccinations

Hi all. My baby girl has just had her 8 week injections and I just wanted any helpful tips on how to make the post-jab experience a little easier. I know every baby is different so all I can do is give you the basics on what is happening in her case.

She is not drinking a lot of her milk, or at least she's throwing up a lot of what she does drink. I've started to give her cooled kettle water to stop dehydration and I think it's working as she's still having heavy wet nappies.

She is very irritable, crying inconsolable at times. I also believe she's got tummy problems - yesterday she was crying and straining for a while, red in the face, until finally she pooped. It was a normal poop, but it seemed to be a struggle for her.

I've been giving her calpol as per the instructions but she tends to spit most of it out, even with the use of a syringe. I'm scared to over dose her so I just hope that she's taking some of it in.

Any advice? We're on day 3 now.

I would phone your HV. Or make a GP appointment. Babies of this age should need to drink water to stop being dehydrated.
