My son is 9 and had flu vaccine on wednesday at school. He said today he is feeling a bit tired and has a bit of a blocked nose. Has anyone elses child had the vaccine, how long after is normal to have side effects. What are the side effects

I'm 53 so this may not count but these are the identical symptoms I had following my flu vaccine, and it was the same for my 17 year old.

Obviously it could also be a regular cold coming on, let him rest up.

Hi my 3 year old just had his last week and had a very runny nose ever since, he had one day off preschool a couple of days after as he was really lethargic and grumpy. He's never been poorly after a vaccine but this one seemed to really have an affect on him. Better than having the flu though.

7 year old had the jab on Thursday (cant have nasal one as meds mean she can't have the live vaccine) and she came home feeling a bit under the weather yesterday, a low grade fever and generally tired and off her food. Today she is still a bit quiet but all other symptoms have vanished.

It is perfectly normal to feel a bit lethargic after it.

He was ok first thing. He said he hadnt slept that good last night as he had a blocked nose. I tried to do his homework with him this morning and he said he felt too tired. So i suggested we go for a little walk for some fresh air might make him feel better. He did struggle a bit and came home and took himself off to his bed. He does like snuggling in his bed so thats not strange but he sad he wanted a little sleep and that isnt him. If he isnt better tomorrow i will have to get him tested. Too many children dont have the typical symptoms.

I'm a grown up, but the flu vaccine made me feel awful this year. Might have been a coincidental cold, but I know I felt ropey after it last year as well. I felt really exhausted and generally "ill" after it this year, for about three days. I hope your son feels better all

Soon!

All been to the drive thro test centre. I knew testing my son would be hard. I tried to keep calm while he was pouring his heart out crying. I know I did a good test, but I got nowhere near his tonsils and not sure if I got the swap high up enough in his nose. I really hope it's negative and I never have to test him again.😥
