What is this rash?

Hi all, DD was diagnosed with tonsillitis on Saturday (had to take her to walk in centre as advised by 111 as she was utterly miserable, crying Inconsolably and had a high temperature). Doctor said it is almost always viral in kids her age (20 months) but prescribed antibiotics just in case.

DD is now much happier and pretty much back to her normal self aside from some lingering tiredness and lack of appetite. But I've noticed she's come out in a rash? Pictures aren't great (it's much redder and more noticeable in person) but it's almost like heat rash, little red dots mainly on her stomach and back, but she has a few on her face and neck too. It disappears when pressed and skin feels normal..

Is this just a normal viral rash? Luckily this is the first DD has ever really been ill so I'm not sure what is normal! Like I said, DD seems fine and doesn't have a temperature.

Thanks Smile

I would have her tested for covid.

I have six kids and I would almost 99.9% say that is a viral rash but in a child so small I would have a gp check it out. I hope
She feels better soon.

Does it feel a bit like sandpaper? Could be Scarlett Fever, other symptoms are red strawberry looking tongue! I’d ask gp to take a look if it’s still same.
