Reflux & diarrhoea.. help!!

Baby is 3 months old and has been diagnosed with reflux by the GP.

First we were prescribed infant Gaviscon, worked wonders for a week but then made him constipated so instead of being unhappy crying because of the reflux it was because of the constipation.

Returned to GP who said to try an anti reflux milk. Changed him to cow&gate anti reflux. Sickness stopped but crying/pain didn't. He also seemed to have diarrhoea.. up 8/9 dirty nappies a day: some like water, some more a more normal consistency.

Returned to the GP again who prescribed omeprazole. Said to stick with the milk as has only been 5 days and he may settle.

We've been a week on the anti reflux milk and 3 days on the omeprazole. In terms of the acid reflux he's like a different baby however nappies are horrendous. He wakes around 4am for a poo, its always runny and then it's every 1-2 hours after that all day long. His little bum is red raw!

Is it normal to poo that much? My oldest child suffered with constipation from 3 weeks old so I've no idea what's normal and what's not.
