Travel sickness meds?

Due to take a long car journey with DS aged 3 over Christmas. He has in the past been a really bad traveller and been car sick numerous times. Now that he is 3 I think there are options for meds to give him, can anyone recommend meds used for your own child? Thanks in advance x

My son has stemetil. It's the only thing they'd prescribe because he was under 2. He hates it though - we have to pin him down to get it in him so only do it for long journeys. He's horrifically car sick and I think it stops him vomiting but he does sometimes still cry so not sure if it completely eliminates the sickness feeling.

I do think the sickness bands go some way to help too. He's rear facing still which probably doesn't help.

Phenergan, the GP prescribed it for my daughter at this age, it really helped. It does make them drowsy though

Thank you both! Have you ever tried anything non-prescription, I see good reviews for joy-rides online? And seems boots do an own brand version.

You can buy phenergan over the counter for over 2's. It does make them drowsy and very grumpy though!
