Grumbling appendix

Hi, does anyone have any experience of a grumbling appendix please?

DS age 12 has pain (level 6/7) in the appendix area. GP advised paracetamol unless pain worsens or vomiting occurs in which case we are to go to A&E.

I'm wondering if this is likely to be ongoing, will resolve itself or worsen?

I doubt it's hereditary but DH had a ruptured appendix at a similar age which is making me nervous.
Thanks x

How's he walking? My son had his appendix out in January. He had a temp
And vomiting and said he felt constipated. Finally put 2 and 2 together and went to a and e. As soon as we walked in the doc said he needs his appendix out. He had an 'old man stoop' which is a classic sign! You really don't want it to burst!

If he or you push gently on the right lower part of his abdomen where the pain is and leave him quick does that make the pain worse?
Also if you know how to feel his pulse. Count it for 60 seconds? How quick is it going?

Ah thanks so much for replying and I wasn't aware of the stoop so that's useful to know. He seems ok in himself (apart from discomfort/pain) but I will check his gait (he has only moved from sofa to dining table and back again) and is well enough for gamingConfused x

Thanks Teen Mummy, he has a normal pulse and I have felt the area and got him to cough and it feels normal but I'll keep monitoring him.
