Tooth abscess

DS 8 has an abscess Sad feel awful like it's my fault although I still help him brush and he doesn't eat that much sugar.

Anyway as it's a baby tooth it needs to come out. Would you get it done under local or general?

I had teeth out under local as a child and don't remember it being too bad, not painful just uncomfortable.
However DS is terrified of pain/blood and the dentist! Not sure if ga would be better than risk him having a bad experience under local

Ah this could be my post! Ds8 also needs one removing ...he has ASD and sensory difficulties so we were unable to brush as effectively as I'd hoped and last year he needed a filling due to decay. Now the same tooth needs removing.

Our dentist has recommended removal under GA for him as he can barely stand the usual check up let alone an extraction. The dentist was also concerned that we have worked so so hard to get him brushing regularly and attending check ups that to give him a negative experience would set him back.
