Screaming when eating?!

My LO for the past four weeks has been screaming and I mean screaming before and during every feed. I have spoken so many times to the doctor about it and she has said it is acid reflux however the health visitor doesn’t think it is. Every time I get the same spiel - hold you baby upright for 20 minutes, small feeds etc etc and the thing is - yes I’m a new mum but I’ve been looking after babies professionally and for family since I was 14. We’ve been doing everything they say to do ever since he was born. I’ve changed his formula and bottles (currently on HIPP and Dr Browns) he’s also on infant gaviscon and I honestly don’t know what to do and don’t feel like I’m being listened to at all. Any advice would be welcome as I’ve got a hungry hungry baby but every feed makes me break down in tears.

This could be reflux due to CMPA, or it might just be reflux. Gaviscon doesn't do much, with screaming like that I'd be looking up the NICE guidelines and pushing your GP for something better for the reflux.

My ds was always crying, as well as throwing up and having explosive diarrhea. We, and gp/hv thought it was reflux too. Turned out he had multiple food allergies, so he was in pain every time he ate. It took 8 months since birth to be diagnosed, so, I had a very unhappy always crying screaming baby for quite a long time.

Forgot to add, I was breastfeeding, so he was reacting to tiny amount of allergen in my breastmilk. It could have been worse if I formula fed, he is allergic to cows milk too.
