Please can people give me some tips and advice. A month ago I stopped giving my 10 month old Ella’s kitchen and decided to cook all her meals myself. Me or my mum can’t understand why she has developed constipation as she has so many fruit and vegetables. She has things like stews with various meats, casseroles, chilli con carne, salmon with vegetables a really healthy diet no packaged things I don’t give her Crisps or sweets yet. Before she did have a variety with ellas so no allergies. She had constipation after a week of home cooking she was screaming in pain and couldn’t get her poo out she looked like she was in agony I tried prunes, apples, albran, apple juice nothing happened so in the end rung the doctors they gave me laxido didn’t work they told me to give her 4 times the dose I did it worked she went back to normal a week later same thing happened laxido again but they told me to take it a couple of days longer this time to make sure her system was cleared I did back to normal now 5 days later the same thing has happened and the doctor has said to put her on it for a couple of weeks. I don’t want to as it’s full of salt and I was told babies are only meant to have a gram of salt a day at most I really don’t want her on it and then when she comes off it won’t the same thing happen? Has anyone else put their baby on this for a couple of weeks did it work? Or even better has anyone got any tips on what I can do naturally for her please? I’ve also tried firmly circling 2 fingers round her belly as a massage but no effect

I found a recipe for Poop Juice once that has never failed me. Boil 2 prunes in water so they are dehydrated, then blend the prunes with a really ripe pear and some of the prune water. Give as a smoothie. Don't plan on leaving the house for the rest of the day...

*prunes are rehydrated!

I'd suggest going back on to ella's kitchen, and then changing over more gradually.

It's probably about water content- she isn't getting enough water.

Any change can disrupt digestion- I've just started slimming world, really not very different from my usual diet, but I've really slowed down and got gassy!

Best to make any changes gradually to give tummies time to respond.

Thank you please could you add to the prune recipe how long do you boil the water how much water do you put in? I just tried it didn’t have any pears at the shop I had some but not ripe was going to try one but wouldn’t go on the blender so I put in some Ella’s kitchen pear and apple and boiled the prunes for quite a while there was only a little water left I blended them up with the Ella’s hope it works if not I will try it your way tomorrow and find some ripe pears if you see this and reply. Also pickles thank you hopefully I can get her going again then I will have her back on Ella’s for a while and change my gradually. I keep trying the give her as much water as possible but she’ll pnlybhave a sip at a time
