Circumcision experiences

DS (10) has seen a urologist today and diagnosed with BXO. The urologist said it is the one true indication for circumcision and that steroid creams will not improve things.

I feel so bad for DS and he is worried about the surgery. Just wondering if anyone can share what the recovery period was like and any tips they have? Has anyone's child been diagnosed with BXO and managed to successfully treat it with creams?
