Circumcision healing time

Has anyone experience on how long circumcision healing takes - specifically in older boys, not infants? My son is 6 years old, we are 8 days post surgery and no where near healed. Still huge scab that bleeds if he puts underpants on (which is a task in itself!) looking for similar experiences and reassurance as feeling were are going nowhere fast and one week til back to school Confused

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Poor love. I hope he heals up soon.

No experience but this might be on the cards for my older boy so following with interest.

It took my son, he was around the same age, three weeks until he could wear anything but loose pyjama shorts.

Thanks. That's useful to know. I feel like the drs were VERY optimistic about recovery, saying 3-4 days and he'll be okay. Defo feels like 3-4 weeks is more accurate. I think I need to get my head around it taking a lot longer than anticipated 😒

@musicalfrog thank you hun ❤️
I called our gp last night and she's given him a 7 day course of antibiotics as she was concerned about infection. She has advised take recovery slow, forget about pushing to get back to school, and healing is about 6-8 weeks. She's made me feel a bit better. Hopefully the antibiotics help! Xx
