Circumcision for 7 year old DS

anyone any experience? DS has a tight foreskin-he's unable to pull the foreskin back to clean properly. DH had to have circumcision at this age for same reason.
will try to get a doctor to see him (impossible before covid, but worth a shot),just wondering if anyone's son had similar problem?
Its not causing any major problems yet (not smelly) but he does get fluff stuck in it which is why we noticed it.
thanks.

They normally advise creams and stretching exercises first. Some don't retract until puberty. I'm not sure I'd go straight for circumcision without trying other things first

Hi my husband had this problem, phimosis.

He had to have a circumcision in his thirties as sex was painful for him.

Sadly, my little boy looks like he has the same problem (hes now 6). We did take him to the doctor's when he was 5 and explained it all. They seemed reluctant to do anything now until he is older and can decide for himself. And that was before covid.

Maybe your son's will improve on it's own, hope so. Dont hold out much hope for ours, bearing in mind how bad his dad's was.

Locally, the surgeon that does these always advises trying the steroid cream and, erm, encouraging the lad to fiddle in the bath/shower first. Some loosen. And some need a lesser intervention than a circumcision (eg a stretch under anaesthetic). Only the minority need a circumcision.

Thanks! He's fiddled in bath with it but it hurts. Spoke to nurse friend about it, she said speak to doc and see what they say. His dad had problems before circumcised, we're hoping to avoid these! It's not a major problem yet but it does get a bit dirty. Don't want to wait til it smells or is infected

Might need the steroid cream too to help thin the skin a bit alongside stretching
