Rash on DD - Pic attached.

DD10 has had this rash for about 10 days just on her chest, tummy and back.

Have seen a pharmacist who said chicken pox but it has never blistered and she had a bad case of it when she was 5. She said try the walk in clinic, they wouldn't see her unless we had spoken to 111 first, called them and said they would call back in two hours, 15 hours later they called but it was 3.30 am so I missed it. Called GP Monday morning, he looked at a picture, and basically said he didn't know and it was probably viral.
It doesn't itch at all but I think it's getting worse. She did come down with a very mild cold about a week after the rash developed which has now gone. Will call the GP again tomorrow. Any ideas?

I assume you’ve done the glass test ?
Have you checked every spot for a blister ? My DD had only one blister when she had chicken pox, the others were just spots.

UncomfortableSilence · 17/09/2020 20:49

Yes glass test all clear, have checked thoroughly, no blisters.

I’m assuming you’ve not changed washing powder, and that she wears cotton clothes and has cotton bedding so it’s not a sweat rash ?
If it’s worse it needs physically checking, not a photo.

UncomfortableSilence · 17/09/2020 21:08

No changes to anything, all cotton bedding etc.

GP was very keen not to see us in person when I asked if he would hence why he asked for the photo Confused

Think I will have to insist, I had hoped by now we could have face to face appointments.

If the GP is wearing PPE there is no reason not to see her.

Tinyhumansurvivalist · 17/09/2020 21:39

I would definitely ring the gp tomorrow for an appointment.

However, have you given her any antihistamine? My dd suffers random allergy reactions to fresh air so I see a lot of rashes, it does look like it could behives

shreddednips · 17/09/2020 21:47

Antihistamine is a good shout Tiny, I'm like your daughter and sometimes come out in quite dramatic hives apropos of apparently nothing. It does look like it could be an allergy of some kind.

Tinyhumansurvivalist · 17/09/2020 21:52

@shreddednips I feel for you! My dd is on 30-50mg of antihistamine a day, 7.4mg methotrexate a week and still has hives, constant itching and massive allergy reactions to absolutely nothing

The specialist dermatology consultant is at a loss...

Op try a couple of doses of antihistamine and see how she gets on

UncomfortableSilence · 17/09/2020 21:56

I actually gave her some Piriton tonight, I'll get a few more doses in her tomorrow and see if that makes a difference.
