Anyone had a hearing test lately?

Dd referred for a hearing test. Was told they didn't know how long it would be because of covid. I was expecting a couple of months wait, but have just seen some mumsnet posts saying their childs was booked but cancelled completely. Should I brace myself for a much longer wait?
I know no one can say for sure. My poor baby has so many cancelled/delayed appointments. This is nowhere near the most important. But it's another thing piled on to us living in limbo.

My DD check up at ENT/audiology was rescheduled for this week and has just been cancelled again I’m afraid

Yes, DD 4yo had a hearing test 2 weeks ago. I was surprised because we’ve been waiting for a few referrals and this is the only one that has happened. Every other department are just doing phone consultations. Good luck with yours.

Thank you both, it must entirely depend on the area then I assume.
By the time things are back to normal they'll be needing to examine her from head to bloody toe.

Ds was due his annual hearing test back in June, they phoned and said that they would see him at some point but were only dealing with emergencies, we are still waiting.

That's a long wait phillipa.
She was due her ophthalmologist in August and haven't heard a word from them. Gentics appointment in March was due on the same day they cancelled all the appointments. So close..
I'll file hearing in the "Very far away" Category.

It’s so frustrating, isn’t it? We’re waiting for several other appointments. They do a phone consultation but the result is always that they need to see us face to face. I get that they want to filter out unnecessary appointments but surely the GP wouldn’t refer if it wasn’t necessary? I’ll stop moaning and wait patiently for the world to return to normal.

Both mine were referred at beginning of lockdown for different reasons. I had one booked for end of August and rang them and asked to fit other DC in at same time. They agreed despite her not being on immediate list! So yes, we had appt same time, 4-5 month wait but I'm not sure that would be that different to before.
Heavily covid risk assessment though. Sanitizer and masks, including my youngest (7). But I haven't been anywhere medical since it all kicked off (despite having a chronic condition myself Hmm) as all seems to have stopped.

The wait is 6 months at our hospital. Ds has been waiting 4 months so far.
