10yrs old DC Gagging on Food

For the past 4 days DS age 10 has started gagging/retching when eating. I am not sure if it's a coincidence but he was told on Tuesday that someone he knew had passed away (helper at school club). On the subsequent meals about halfway through once food was cold (he eats so slowly) he will start gagging and retching. It happened again at breakfast as his toast had gone cold. However he has never gagged like this before. I asked him and he said he saw something scary on Captain Underpants (?). DS also has Aspergers.

I have no idea if any of this is linked. Hehas never gagged or retched like this before. It seems to have come on all of a sudden and I have no idea what to do apart from try to get him to eat a bit quicker so his food is still warm.

Any thoughts/ideas?

Many thanks
