Reflux

My LG is 11 weeks and has really bad Acid Reflux! After trying a lot of different things and finally we've been prescribed Infant Gaviscon, and Lactulose for the contipation caused by the Gaviscon.. we still struggle with her being sick while on the Gaviscon but not as much but apparently they grow out of it? I'm wondering how old your babies were when they grew out of it? Hoping it's soon for my LG! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Hello!

With DC2, we noticed it calming down around the 8 month mark. We've stopped using the Gaviscon now at 15 months.
Weaning initially played havoc, lots of high acidic foods to be careful with but do your research when you get to that point.
Reflux is horrid for babies. I didn't even know it existed with my first!

Oh wow 8 months! I was looking forward to the weaning thinking this would be better for her reflux! I'm dreading this now as it never even crossed my mind about high acidic food! Have you any advise on what foods to avoid?? This is my first baby and it's put me off anymore if there's a chance they're gonna have reflux too 😭

They are all very different though, some can quicker than others.
Hopefully more people will come along with their advice.

With the foods, I've only just introduced oranges (for obvious reasons!) but earlier in weaning I made sure I offered one thing a day slowly acidic wise to make sure I didn't create any bad episodes.
Offering water was a good one for us too at that point, it really helped her.
There is a chart online somewhere, really handy. It's got a traffic light system of foods, it was real eye opener for me as there are a few foods I didn't know that were red and amber

Around 6 months, we tried to get her on solids as soon as it was allowed. Screamed pretty much constantly from the day she was born. She had all the tests and the various meds etc.
We gave porridge & mashed bananas and she loved them.
