hi going this afternoon with my 11yr old sound.
Has anyone got any advice about this as he is very nervous. I have also just seen on the form he will be asked to go to the loo in a portable toilet. Is this actually in the room with the scan. Dreading this as he will find that really embarrassing.

My DD had it but she was a bit younger. She was thrilled when I introduced her to the lady doing the scan as the first person who had even seen her, she did my scans when I was pregnant.

It was all done very calmly, sensitive but matter of fact and not making a big deal of it.

My DD got the all clear and I hope your son get's the same. I would say just be reassuring and don't let him feel your anxiety and I know you will be feeling anxious as I was.

Thanks he got an all clear from anything related to kidneys, bladder etc so that was very good to hear. The toilet part was in a separate room so was fine.
One thing I would say in case anyone else with a child around 11yrs having this done is to drink at least 1 litre. We were told 500ml, 30 mins before and bladder virtually empty even when appt running late. Ended up with not happy ds drinking lots of cold water from their cooler. Got there in the end but wasn't a good start.

anna glad it was all OK. Kids are such a worry aren't they, I'd much rather be ill myself than go through it with kids.
