My 15 year old son has been portly for the last few days. Sleeping in then not sleeping. He's had a what we thought was normally belly pain nausea, normal radiating groin pain but now a lot today and he's said in the night the pain has been sudden and hurts a lot everywhere. He's got sudden need for the a poo but only ever pass passes wee. He is anxious this week but that's not his normaly self.
He doesn't have a temp every time I have checked but still feels hot and cold. He's described it best as crampy pain but sudden intermittent with that groin pain which has him curled up in bed.
I'm worried this time I don't know what is wrong. He's got lots wrong down there with chronic pain which I thought this was but now it's been going on a bit long and the hot and cold is very different.

Tiredmum100 · 31/08/2020 19:48

MobLife · 31/08/2020 19:51

Coldwinterahead1 · 31/08/2020 19:53

Is it his appendix?

Prettybluepigeons · 31/08/2020 19:54

Def get him seen tonight

Bobbybobbins · 31/08/2020 19:56

Ring 111

LovingLola · 31/08/2020 19:56

Could be appendicitis. That should be checked urgently.

MiniMaxi · 31/08/2020 19:58

I would say appendix or pancreas are possible. Both urgent - A&E is prob best.

ithinkiveseenthisfilmbefore · 31/08/2020 20:07

Appendicitis is a distinct possibility; don't wait to get it checked out.

Thisisnotnormal69 · 31/08/2020 20:36

What have the doctors said?

Herdwick · 31/08/2020 20:44

A male relative had something like this. Can't remember exactly what the diagnosis was but it was basically a twisted testicle and was a bit of an emergency.

TeenMummy · 01/09/2020 00:44

We are in hospital now. They have examined him they have found something in his groin but they have said it's not twisted. We are now waiting for scans. His Appendix are gone a few years. We are not sure what's causing it but thank you. Will update in the morning

Hope he gets sorted soon . You are in the best place for him. Take care.

TeenMummy · 01/09/2020 09:41

We have spent all night in A&E. DS had a sudden spike in pain at one of the worst he's ever had around 4 this morning. We still don't know what's causing it but they have mentioned slightly intermittent torsion as a new possibility. We have had the ultrasound scan a little while ago. He's had strong pain killers and is now fast asleep thankfully. Iv come home now leaving DH with him for a few hours. Thank you fellow mums 🙂

This sounds so horrible for you all. Thank goodness you took him to be checked. Sending good vibes for a speedy recovery.

frustrationcentral · 01/09/2020 10:17

Poor lad, wishing him well x

Hope you manage to get some rest too

TeenMummy · 02/09/2020 00:02

It's been a long day. He's been admitted tonight for surgery in the morning to secure his testicles and stop them from half twisting. He's had new calf pain today as well so I hope this fixes it tomorrow. Will update tomorrow after surgery.

Hope he feels better soon

notthemum · 02/09/2020 07:27

Hope all goes well. In the meantime remember that you need to eat, drink and rest. You will not be able to support him if you are not taking care of yourself.
Best wishes 💐

tmh88 · 02/09/2020 07:37

Oh goodness op. Hope he is feeling better soon and all goes well with the op! Take care of yourself too Flowers

DracoDormiens · 02/09/2020 07:43

mummymayhem18 · 02/09/2020 21:49

Hope all goes well and he's soon back home with you ☺️

mummymayhem18 · 05/09/2020 22:57

How's he doing now OP?

TeenMummy · 07/09/2020 15:32

@mummymayhem18 Sorry for the long pause. He's been okay. Pain meds are reducing now and his pain is managed well thankfully. We have had a little infection on the right side incision and on antibiotics for that so the GP and Hospital seem happy enough but just incase we are booked in for a review with the GP Wednesday to check on the infection and wounds both sides.
He's doing well. I think he's gotten over the "embarrassment" (his words not ours) of being exposed and examined by a good few doctors more since the infection. We have spoken that is normal and they are just looking and doing their job. He's comfortable with it now and we help him to change the dressing every day. We have decided to keep him off school for another week at least and no sport for a little while. We have been going on little walks in the garden just to keep everything moving.
The only other thing his as expected the Co-Codamol has caused him to be constipated and the cramps when he tries to push hurt him a lot bless him but all is going well. Thank you so much for asking @mummymayhem18
