Reasons for low white blood count?

Took DD to docs as she was complaining of dizziness. Did blood tests and all normal except slightly low wbc. Says probably not significant and will repeat in 6 weeks.

However me and my health anxiety are freaking out a bit as she also has had a pea sized, palpable lymph node on her neck. Has had this for ages, over a year. Hadn’t grown and sometimes not there. Seen by GP who suggested it was nothing, common and probably related to her eczema.

However, now putting 2 and 2 together and making 5.

Why would a child (she’s 14) have a low WBC?

www.webmd.com/cancer/white-blood-cell-count-low

Scroll down to causes and you’ll see it’s not just cancers but sometimes things like viral infection or poor nutrition that can cause low white blood count.
