My little one (20 months) has this rash on her abdomen back and face. She's been poorly with temperature earlier in the week but that's gone now could it just be viral? It's disappears when pressed but is red and raised

Hi,

I actually just came on here to ask about something really similar. My 10 month old has had a rash on his back and chest for three days. He hasn't had any temperature or any illness though. Wonder if it is the start of something.

That's a better pic sorry x

Heat rash/prickly heat maybe?

latticechaos · 13/08/2020 18:32

Where there has been a temperature have you done a covid test?

Rashes can be common after viral infection, I would always check it disappears under a glass (NHS website will advise) and speak to GP if any worries.

Hi yes we had Covid test done Monday and was negative. I don't think it's prickly heat as it's only come up today and has been lots cooler whereas she never has it on really hot days.

Good to hear it was negative!

YoBeaches · 13/08/2020 18:56

Looks like viral rash my dd had it again a week ago, lasts about 5 days if he has no other symptoms.

YukoandHiro · 13/08/2020 18:58

That looks like heat rash. Normal temp now? Otherwise feeling poorly?
