DS 12 Hip Pain & Limp With Leg Length Discrepancy

Just looking fo see if anyone has been in the same situation or could offer advice. I know people can't give proper medical advice or diagnosis. So my DS is 12 and for the past 8 weeks he has walked with a painful limp without any injury. After the first 4 weeks the limp got worse so I called the GP who made an urgent referral. About a week later the hospital called and advised I bring him in that day for assessment. We was then omitted and stayed in for 4 days. He had lots of blood took, x-ray and MRI. All the tests came back clear so we was discharged still with the limp. We then went to the Fractor clinic as out patient and they said everything is fine. I mentioned that he is still in pain and limping and asked if his legs being 2cm indifference could be the cause. They said possibly and to wait until I see a physiotherapist. This was 4 weeks ago my DS is still in pain and has gone from a very very active lad to not wanting to do anything because he is in pain. His limp seems to be getting worse and still no sign of any appointments. I don't know how to help apart from pain relief. So has anyone had anything similar? Or could anyone suggest what I can do to help him?
Sorry for the long post or any spelling mistakes.

I have this. I got referred to a podiatrist who got an orthotic (shoe insert) made for my shorter leg. It helped with both the limping and the pain

I have similar. I have a shoe insert and had physio which was excellent. I rarely get pain now.
