Huge facial vein still very visible at 6.5 y.o

Hi all

When my DS (dear son) was born he had a very visible vein running down his right temple. I didn’t think much about it since all babies have very thin skin. However now at 6.5 he still has a very visible blue vein, as well as some visible veins on his jawline. I wasn’t paying too much attention until someone pointed it out and said I should probably get it checked.

His doctor said it’s nothing though he casually mentioned some children might have some abnormalities of the vascular system in their head / brain, causing blood to flow through the face and making veins prominent. So now I am worried.

Does anyone else have any experience with this?

I see loads of kids, particular light hair / skinned, with very prominent veins. You even see it on adults sometimes. I honestly wouldn't worry. It's just him.

Hey Suzie
Thanks for replying. You are right that lots of people have them, I started noticing them ever since I became concerned for my DS ;)

He is not fair skinned though and the vein I very visible, but I guess if the doctor is not concerned I should try and ignore it
