Extra molars at 3 years old

Hi there
Last week my (just turned) 3yo DS had a mild fever with NO other symptoms. The fever was highest overnight (it came on suddenly, only Knew because he felt hot) it was 38.4 at highest and 37.8 throughout day then totally disappeared. He was happy throughout, only complaining of jaw pain on one side that didn’t seem to bother him long.
I got him a covid test & we all self isolated until it arrived back as expected; negative. We are all fine 10 days on.
Today when I was brushing his teeth I have noticed a white bulge beyond his second molar! DS has had all of his teeth, including 2 year molars for around 9 months, which is why I didn’t connect his jaw pain with any type of teething. He’s also putting things in his mouth - unusual behaviour for him!
However, these are surely 6 year molars? Not 3 year! Does ANYONE have any experience of this? For the first time, Dr Google has given me no answers!
Thanks in advance

wondering if you figured this out, my 3yo seems to be getting 3rd molars already too!

Wow, I’d forgotten about this post!

I took my (now nearly 5 year old) to the dentist and whilst she confirmed she could see the whiteness, she said the pain could be down to his teeth just generally moving around underneath. She said they would need to consider investigations if his molars did cut as that is abnormal for the age group. 2 years on and they never did cut, so no idea what it was! Sorry I can’t help further!

Thanks! Thought this was a long shot given it was a while since it was posted!! I’ll take her to the dentist next week and see if they can see what’s going on. It’s hard to get a proper look but it really looks like the beginning of a tooth cutting through 😓
