Dd stung by something, redness spread quickly

Dd(5) was stung between her third and fourth toe today. I got the stinger out but didn't see what stung her. The mark where she was stung has gone but redness spread over the top of her foot quite quickly after. This was about 3 hours ago. It hasn't spread since. Is this normal? I've never been stung so I don't really know what the normal reaction is. Dd was really upset when it happened but has since played happily. She's now complaining her foot hurts when she walks on it. I've attached a pic to show how far the redness has spread. The photo doesn't show how red it is though. Any advice appreciated.

Pack of frozen peas wrapped in a tea towel. Can’t you bribe her to take the piriton?

She needs antihistamine as a starting point. “Not Liking” it isn’t a valid choice.
