HFM, Chicken Pox or neither?

DS is 14mo.

Known cases of chicken pox and hand foot and mouth recently at his nursery.

He's been teething the last couple of weeks so very dribbly and therefore spotty. He has a weird big crusty spot (that looks like it could be a single chicken pox) under his lip.

He came back from nursery yesterday with what I thought was bad nappy rash - it almost looks like it's where he's sat in something that's caused an irritation on his bum cheeks rather than nappy rash in his bum crack.

He's now doing much more frequent, much more watery poo's.

I thought it was all just still teething but now I'm not sure...any suggestions?

Should he be going to nursery tomorrow? He has no temp and is currently bombing around the house without a care in the world!

Hand foot and mouth can present in the nappy area too

Thanks @dementedpixie any idea what it looks like? I googled and the only rashes I can see are more spotty than his nappy rash!

HFM looks kind of like chicken pox! It does go in nappy area, and my dd was really miserable with it, dribbling a lot, off her food and then a couple of spots around her mouth, then in her mouth and nappy area and last of all fingers and toes, she also had fever and diarrhoea.

HFM is tiny blisters that appear, when my little one had it it was on his knees, feet, wrists and even in his mouth and throat. They seemed to be more on the joins.
He had a poorly tummy and was generally not well in himself. They eventually scabbed up and some weeped.
I have a pic

Crispy patch on face could be impetigo?

Mine had HFM in the nappy area. One also got bad nappy rash when she was teething and her poo was very runny. Yellow metanium helped that.
