Help - bleeding won't stop

My DS age 12 has a bleeding elbow - it has been bleeding non-stop from a tiny pinprick (I think, I can't see a wound and it started spontaneously). Do we go to A&E? It's gone on for an hour now.

have you tried applying pressure with a cotton pad and raising it above his head?

SeaToSki · 15/07/2020 11:57

Also, try an ice cube on it with some kitchen towel underneath so you can apply pressure.

How much blood is coming out? Is it pulsing and coming out in waves or just generally leaking

Grobagsforever · 15/07/2020 12:02

Does his blood normally clot?

ValkyrieCain · 15/07/2020 12:29

It had stopped and just started again when he bends his arm. No bleeding problems before. It is like a slow dripping tap and running down his arm. I wonder if it's a bite - I can see a tiny pimple now...

Phone gp? Ours covers minor injuries like this

Got an appointment in an hour (we're not in UK) so fingers crossed. It's weird, the spontaneity of it.

How did he get on?
