Does this look like an ulcer to you?

Son age 8 has sore mouth - first mentioned it a few days ago, said he’d scrubbed his teeth really hard and made his gums sore. I bought some non-SLS toothpaste for him to try as he mentioned it felt like his skin was coming off which I know is a symptom of SLS irritating, but now he’s got this weird thing in his mouth. It doesn’t look like an ulcer tbh, but not sure if it’s worth going to the doctor? Could it just be irritation?

Obviously I’ll keep an eye on it tomorrow but interested to get opinions.

To be clear it’s the white line thing next to his teeth, not those odd little spots which I didn’t notice before!

Could be an ulcer. Hand foot and mouth can look a bit like that too though. Does he have any other symptoms? Fever, sore throat, spots anywhere?

He’s totally fine within himself - I don’t think HF & M as he’s been isolated for the duration of lockdown (not shielding or anything, just because we’ve been careful).

Looks very much like an ulcer, probably caused by trauma from knocking area with toothbrush. Should get better itself within a week and if it doesn’t to call your dentist to have a look not your doctor.
