Like my title says my dd is 6 and perfectly healthy but to my knowledge hasn’t peed in the last 24 hours, she has been with me at a friends so would ask to be taken to the loo as she’s asd and struggles with cleaning herself! Should I contact a doctor or am I worrying about nothing?

How much hss she had to drink?

Llamadale14 · 13/07/2020 06:50

Sipping different drinks throughout the day couldn’t tell you exact amounts as at home we have water dispenser so she usually helps herself otherwise seems perfectly fine but I can’t settle until she’s weed 🤦🏼‍♀️

I would start by encouraging her to have a couple of decent sized drinks

Llamadale14 · 13/07/2020 06:53

As soon as she wakes I’m going to give her a lucozade sport as it has electrolytes etc which should help if she’s dehydrated 🙏 never heard of anyone going 24 hours without a wee my bladders is fit to burst after 4 hours!

Please contact your gp and get some advice as soon as they open

Idontkowmyname · 13/07/2020 07:20

If it’s urinary retention it could be dangerous to give more fluids however if it’s dehydration it’s dangerous not to, please seek medical advice ASAP. I only thought about possible retention after I’d clicked post with my original response.

LittleCabbage · 13/07/2020 07:21

Definitely speak to your GP ASAP.

Llamadale14 · 13/07/2020 07:23

Thanks guys as soon as she’s up I’m going to give her some fluids and see if she goes will ring GP for advice as I’ve never dealt with this before and I have 13 yr old too so I’ve come across most common childhood things 🙃

I think you need medical advice asap, don't delay.

24 hours no urine is not at all normal.

Doesn't mean it is serious, but you need to speak to someone.

Llamadale14 · 13/07/2020 07:34

Won’t delay thanks for advice will ring GP as soon as they open at 9 🙏

Could you perhaps call 111 now?

Llamadale14 · 13/07/2020 08:19

We don’t have 111 service in Northern Ireland 😔

chaoticisatroll55 · 13/07/2020 19:26

Lay him down and feel his bladder.

labyrinthloafer · 13/07/2020 21:40

Just checking back in to see if op updated, hope it resolved itself.

Llamadale14 · 13/07/2020 22:24

Hi everyone doctor advised push fluids for a few hrs and see what happens before he’d advise medical intervention but she has since weed thank you for everyone’s advice and the people that came back to check in! 😘 she’s not going as regularly as usual but the more fluids I’m pushing the more she’s going so think she may have been a touch dehydrated 🙏
