Inky brown mark inbetween toddlers toe

Firstly please let me say I will be taking DD to the doctors on Monday, but for the sake of me sleeping I was wondering if anyone had come across similar.

Last week my husband noticed a brown marking inbetween my 2year old daughters toes, wasn’t there before. It’s not raised but looks like ink would spread if as in it’s ragged, it’s not changed at all but it’s also not faded. (Hoping to attach a pic at end of this but describing as best I can incase).

It’s about 15mm across and different shape, the same colour all over and doesn’t hurt her.

I’m kinda freaking naturally, as I googled it and NOTHING similar came up. So now I’m thinking melanoma- like you do.

Has anyone come across anything similar? Fungal, bruising etc... she has been walking bare foot in our garden / drive recently so could have stood on anything (and she isn’t one to make a fuss) but you’d have expected it to fade in a week, right.

Dye from sweaty sandals??

Rico83 · 27/06/2020 21:06

She’s not had anything on that colour. I wish I could post a pic but can’t see how to do it. Thanks for replying though, I’m getting myself in a state and I’m not normally like this.

Would help to see a pic, but sounds similar to something my DD had on her foot last summer after walking outside barefoot. Is it like a brown stain that won't rub off? It gradually came off anyway, took a week or two.

I have a brown spot that I showed the GP. She wasn't sure so now I have to wait three weeks to see if it fades. If it doesn't she's going to refer me for a melanoma check.

So wait a few days while keeping an eye on itand otherwise have a GP look at it. Melanoma is very rare though. It's almost always something less sinister.

Can’t for the life of me work out how to do it. (Photo) yes it’s like a stain inbetween her toes, looks like brown ink has bled into her skin. It’s weird. I mean she could have stood on something but for it to be where it is and the same colour as a mole, but not a mole shape.

Well yeah I’ve googled stats and it’s like very very rare in the UK for children. She’s not ginger/ fair skinned, has no history and comes back from holidays like she’s never been (she’s covered, in the shade with factor 50 applied regularly).
