I've read lots of good things about GC Tooth Mousse. My LO has some early decay and I wondered if it would help. Does anyone have any experiences please?

It doesnt contain fluoride

Have you spoken to a dentist? Have they applied fluoride /treated the decay?

RHRA · 27/06/2020 10:20

The best thing you can do is physically brush her teeth for her with an age-appropriate fluoride level -basically the same as adults if she’s over 3. And confine allsugars, (drinks & food) to breakfast/lunch/dinner. You might have a chance at arresting your child’s early caries if you do this.
Forget the tooth mousse, if it was that easy, dentists up and down the country would be doling it out willy nilly.

Thanks everyone. We have been to the dentist and we are monitoring for the next few months. We have cut sugar except some fruit at meal time and brushing twice a day with a baby toothpaste (little one is under 2). I thought maybe the tooth paste as a little extra treatment at night

Does the toothpaste have at least 1000ppm fluoride in it? (although up to adult strength - 1450ppm - can be used too)

Greybearskip · 27/06/2020 10:41

Yes its a colgate one with 1000ppm

www.nhs.uk/live-well/healthy-body/taking-care-of-childrens-teeth/ this tells you about appropriate fluoride levels for babies/ older children

RHRA · 27/06/2020 10:47

And make sure she doesn't rinse her mouth out after toothbrushing, just spit.

Thank you @RHRA and @dementedpixie for your help
