Hi all.
Just after a bit of advice, or what you'd do in this situation.
Yesterday at 4am my 4 yr old daughter woke up with a temperature, the highest its been is 39.4C. She was also complaining about a headache, said it really really hurts. I gave her some paracetamol which brought the temp down slightly.

Later on in the day yesterday she vomited, still said her head hurts, I phoned docs who said because she is still alert, seems herself etc that it's not urgent and to just manage at home with paracetamol & ibuprofen which i've been doing. One minute she seems fine the next she's on the sofa crying about her head.

She woke up this morning with a fairly normal temp, seemed absolutely fine told me her head felt better but as the day has gone on she's been more and more miserable. She's laying beside me now just saying 'my head my head' I gave her some ibuprofen which doesn't seem to have done anything, temp still up and down, her body feels hot but says she feels cold. I just don't know what to do.
Like I said she seems absolutely fine, she ate a good bit this morning, would you phone 111 if this was your child? or just see how she goes? I don't want to waste nhs time if no need, thanks.

What is her temperature now, OP? If it is high, then that could be a symptom of corona, and you will need to get her tested. You can order a testing kit here
www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/testing-and-tracing/ask-for-a-test-to-check-if-you-have-coronavirus/
and you will need to isolate until you get her results back. All the best and I hope your dd feels better soon. Flowers

Thank you both for the replies, she's actually been absolutely fine since! I'm feeling really unwell now and partner feels tired and weak. Wonder if we do all have covid Sad

Hope you all start to feel better soon.
Always worth remembering the symptoms of meningitis, esp in children, for next time. Headache, vomit, fever, "really just not right"...

Also check your carbon monoxide alarms are working if your home uses gas. Smile
