We have noticed today a light patch of skin on the back of our toddler. Has anyone any idea what it may be? We will try and get a GP appointment but anticipate this may not be as easy as usual.

It isn’t scaly or raised

It could be vitiligo. Let him get a little sunlight on it to stimulate the pigmentation.

I will try that as well as we always keep them covered and sun lotioned

I had this, it’s a yeast infection called tinea versicolour. I don’t know how they treat it in young children but the dr gave me a cream for it. I now use a glycolic acid scrub and that has eradicated it. It’s not contagious or anything

Thank you-it isn’t bothering him at all but he does get so hot in this muggy weather.
