Spots/rash on back of 6mo neck? Possible bites?

Hi everyone,

Of course not on here for genuine medical advice though as a first time mum (and also in the current circumstances with hospitals) I thought I’d pop on here first and see if anyone has experienced the same before with their child?

I noticed these spots this morning whilst getting her changed - they’re almost pimple like and quite red (which is why I’m leaning towards being bites). I’ve of course done the glass test and all looks good on that front. Her temp is also fine and she seems like her normal self.

Is this something I should call 111/out of hours about?

Just to add - they are only on her neck! I’ve looked her over and she is fine elsewhere. I have been sleeping with the windows closed the last few days so unsure if anything could’ve gotten in still. I’ve not changed any washing detergent but I did bathe her in a new bubble bath a couple of days ago.

You don't need to call 111 as she is fine in herself.
They do look like bites, particularly given how they are clustered. Do you have any pets in the house?

No pets! (Though I think I’d agree with you on the bites - I did find a small spider next to her cot just now!)

Were you outside yesterday? Could just be gnat bites.

That's a classic spot for nit bites but she looks like she doesn't have much hair yet so you would probably have noticed an infestation.
