Baby grunting and straining

Hi,

My baby girl is 3 weeks today she seems to grunt and strain after feeds with her face going abit red when she does. She doesn’t cry at all and when she does she is easily consoled with cuddles or milk so I don’t think it’s Colic but the other signs sounds as though they match colic. She also has hiccup fits twice a day I have heard of reflux which it also could be but she doesn’t throw up a lot only if I put her on her back after a feed. I am just worried she is suffering and In pain and am struggling to get any sleep at all - is anyone else experiencing this? Please help!

My DS was just like this when he was tiny but he used to thrash about and cry too. I drove myself mad trying to find out what was wrong with him (took him to the doc’s - all fine). I came across the term “infant dyschezia” which you may want to google. They’ve basically not learnt to do a bowel movement properly. I found nothing helped, tried Infacol, Colief, gripe water, different types of formula. He just eventually grew out of it. HTH.
