Peeling hands

The skin on 10 Yr old Dds fingertips started peeling about a month ago. It was only a tiny bit on one finger but now it has spread to all of her fingers on both hands and moved on to her palms. She also complains of her hands feeling tingly alot of the time and that they hurt.

She doesn't have a history of skin sensitivity or allergies. She has barely been anywhere so I don't think that it's linked to excessive handwasing or alcohol gel use (we have imperial leather soap atm if that's relevant). We went to the pharmacist and they recommended E45 or nonfragranced baby moisturiser which we've been using but doesn't seem to make much difference.

I'm waiting for a GP call back but does anyone else have any ideas?

It's a symptom of Kawasaki disease. I only know that because i took my son to the GP with a rash and he had peeling finger tips. We were sent to A&E but all turned out to be fine and not Kawasaki. That's the extent of my knowledge but definitely worth following up

My son had peeling skin on his hands after he had hand, foot and mouth disease. Some of his finger nails fell off as well. I was terrified and thought it was something dreadful, but the doctor said it was quite normal.
