DDs both have a rash on torso any ideas what it could be?

DDs (6 and 8) both developed a rash today.

It looks similar to chicken pox, but they both had it 5 years ago.

NHS and Dr Google don't seem to be throwing up anything obvious.

They both seem fine in themselves and no fever. Will attach pics.

Have they been in the garden? Could it be a pollen allergy? I’d be inclined to give them some antihistamine and see if it improves.

Alpacamabags · 02/06/2020 19:55

Both of mine have this exact rash! Took eldest to the pharmacy and she was baffled. It's not itchy or blistered but is persistent. Started 4 days ago and rapidly spread but only on torso. Neither showing any sign of clearing up. No other symptoms!

Drivingdownthe101 · 02/06/2020 19:55

Have you got a not tub? Paddling pool?

Drivingdownthe101 · 02/06/2020 19:56

*hot tub!

Alpacamabags · 02/06/2020 19:56

Have been giving eldest antihistamine on advice of pharmacist and no difference?

EchidnasPhone · 02/06/2020 19:57

Heat rash. Antihistamines and keep them out of the sun and it’ll go down.

timeforawine · 02/06/2020 19:58

Mine had something similar last year, doctor wasn't sure either, it went away after a couple off days and hasn't returned since

Gwynfluff · 02/06/2020 19:58

I’d have gone heat rash or something from hot tub or pool.

AdalindMeisner · 02/06/2020 19:59

No temps? Only symptom is the rash?

cliffdiver · 02/06/2020 20:02

I did wonder if it could be the paddling pool!

They only used it for an hour each day over the past 3 days (not today).

Haven't given antihistamines as neither have said it's itchy.

Random, but you haven't used floats in the pool have you? Both of mine get a contact allergy rash from them when we go swimming.

cliffdiver · 02/06/2020 20:03

@Alpacamabags that looks identical!

Reader1984 · 02/06/2020 20:03

Heat rash? It's going to be cooler tomorrow so see if it's still there...

cliffdiver · 02/06/2020 20:04

@AdalindMeisner yep - no fever, just the rash.

Have they been in the garden? My ds gets a rash like this after rolling around in grass...

HalfBloodPrincess · 02/06/2020 20:12

Have you got artificial grass?

CazM2012 · 02/06/2020 20:12

My DD has this a couple of weeks ago, we put it down to a new suncream, or the paddling pool. Looked exactly the same and just disappeared after a week Confused

cliffdiver · 02/06/2020 20:13

@tenlittlecygnets not without tops / shorts on, and no rash on their arms or lower legs that would have been exposed.

peanutbutterandbanana · 02/06/2020 20:14

Have you checked if it's molluscum? Google it to see if it looks the same. That will need steroidal cream. My kids all had it - take ages to go away but then it just does. It's contagious.

cliffdiver · 02/06/2020 20:15

@HalfBloodPrincess interesting you ask, we have a strip our neighbour gave us that we use as a walkway to the paddling pool.

I think it might be the catapillers. The hairy ones. Loads around at the moment. They live in oak trees. Have you been on many forest walks?

Alpacamabags · 02/06/2020 21:37

No hot tub. Paddling pool daily but not today. Fresh water each day.
Eldest has molluscum on arm. Pharmacist confirmed torso is definitely not the same. No artificial grass. They are well in themselves so I'm not too concerned but it is very strange!
