DS (7) has his adult front teeth. His central incisors are out and the lateral ones too. They are seriously misaligned (not just a little bit), one of the central incisors is sideways and has grown from the front of the gum so there is no hope of it being pushed right as others emerge.
Our NHS dentist won't say much about what can be done or whether the thumb sucking has contributed but I'm concerned that my son is going to get very badly teased. At the moment his peers are still "gappy" and it doesn't stand out much but it will soon.
I wondered about getting a referral to a paediatric dental hospital (do they exist?). Waiting another 6 years to fit braces when it's clearly not going to improve concerns me.
