Infected Spot

My little one developed an initially normal looking spot last week which has gradually developed into this.

Just wanted thoughts as to whether it's anything other than a spot?

She's complaining it's sore 🙁

I get that looked at. The spreading redness suggests all is not well with it

novacaneforthepain · 18/05/2020 12:29

Impetigo?

Get it looked at regardless

tattiehat · 18/05/2020 13:28

Thanks folks.

That was one of my concerns the spreading redness.

Will phone GP now.

Hi OP.

Hard to see from that picture, but looks like you might have "tracking" there - the red streaks from the main red patch?
If so, it's likely you'll need oral antibiotics fairly soon. Is your DD feeling OK other than it being sore? Any fever or anything?

Hope the GP is helpful.

How is he OP?

tattiehat · 20/05/2020 12:25

After looking at it again the 'tracking' appeared to be a scratch and she seemed fine in herself so I left it a day and it appears to be much improved.

That's textbook impetigo I'd have said.
