Indented scar?

DS fell over and head butted Grandma’s coffee table. It left a red line across his nose that turned into a scab then into an indented scar. It looks really bad for something that wasn’t even deep enough to bleed. Will the scar flatten out? Surely most kids fall over at some point and I don’t see loads of people with facial scarring. I’m worried this dent is permanent, it looks awful and it’s in a really prominent position.

I'm sure it will fade over time, my dd13 cut her eyebrow when she was small and you can barely see the scar now

It looks really bad on his poor little face. It’s not red any more but it looks terrible. It seems like every little knock is making a scar.

Aww bless him. You could use bio oil on it to help reduce the scarring.

I'd try some bio oil? DS1 scratched his cheek on a bush when he was 3, it hardly bled at all yet left him with a scar most of the way down his cheek. It has gradually faded over the years and now is barely noticeable. He has a darker skin tone and his skin seems to scar easily - he now has lots of rugby scars to add to the cheek one!

@Rhodri

How does it look now? Did it go away?
