Child scratching!

DS 12 is pretty active and likes to walk in the woods and be in the garden. He is quite accident prone and his poor legs are covered in wounds and, I think, some bites. Before they have a chance to heal he scratches (mainly at night but also day).
We've been given cream for eczema, as his skin is very dry.
Any tips? Some are on the verge of getting infected now. I also think he is a bit anxious (home situation, and dad now going on and on about his legs all the time, amongst other things)

One of my sons is like that. He scratches and picks at the skin on his legs. Whenever I tell him off, he tells me it is from a walk in the bush, a fall with his bike and so on. However I see him mindlessly scratching and picking. At least once a year, it will reach infection level and need antibiotics. He is 15!
I put bactroban on the worst one and try to spray disinfectant on the others when I manage to convince him.
Some pick their finger nails, he picks his skin and it leaves scars!

Thank you. I think I'll try and get some antibiotic cream - they are such a mess and starting to get red now.
