I found a thread from”Is Loving and Giving” posted back in May 2012 regarding her 8 year old daughter breaking one of her front teeth.
I would like to know how your little girl is now?
My 7 year old daughter broken one of her second front teeth this week and I’m absolutely crushed. I’m paranoid about teeth, my mum was a dental nurse before she had me and has constantly instilled in me throughout my childhood how I must take care of mine and I now do that with my kids. I’m glad to say I’ve never broken any of mine but both my younger daughters, 9 and 7, have broken theirs. My 9 year old chipped/broke all 4 of her front ones over the last couple of years. They have been repaired, the dentists tried their best, but sad to say I’m not very happy with the result. My 7 year old broken one of hers Sunday just gone. She rolled off the settee and hit her teeth on the floor.
I rang the dentist yesterday. The receptionist said because it isn’t an emergency they can’t see her until after the lockdown is finished, but can give me a free temporary repair kit to try at home. So I picked it up and we tried it. It took an hour to dry which was fine. She couldn’t eat or drink during this time. After that she’s hungry so I cut up a banana and tell her to chew with her back teeth. This is fine, then she wants crisps - they are the traditional walkers branded type. After eating these, the temporary filling has come off. I don’t know what else to do. She tells me it feels like it has a sharp edge to it and when I brushed it before I applied the temp filling it did bleed too when I brushed it. She is not complaining of any pain.
Do any other mums have any other stories similar to mine? How have you managed to teeth your children to take more care in order to protect their teeth?
Thank you 🙏
