3 year old son has had this for the last 3 days. Not sure what it is or whether I should get it checked out. It's on his thigh and not causing any pain

Does anybody know what this is on my son?

Could be start of molluscum contagiosum?

OhioOhioOhio · 25/04/2020 19:31

I think so too.

UAEMum · 25/04/2020 19:33

Def molluscum. He will have loads soon. Basically nothing you can do about it.

Mummyneedsginnow · 25/04/2020 19:36

If is molluscum and you'll probably soon know as more will appear, there is something called molludab, on prescription from GP, doesn't work for everyone but worked wonders for my son

Wheresthebiffer2 · 25/04/2020 19:37

If it is molluscum, it is highly contagious. Do not attempt to squeeze the spots (it hurts the child, but also the stuff inside is v. infectious). It doesn't itch or hurt, and will go away in its own time. (like a wart).

Didiplanthis · 25/04/2020 19:41

Molludab is not available from many GPs as it is blacklisted by most CCG so GP are not allowed to prescribe it in those areas.

lljkk · 25/04/2020 19:42

Looks like a wart to me. They go away by themselves.

espressoontap · 25/04/2020 19:45

Looks like chicken pox. My son had one on his chest like this then after 3 days more came out.

alotinashortspaceoftime · 25/04/2020 20:17

Chicken pox maybe

alotinashortspaceoftime · 25/04/2020 20:28

@Horseshoe5 not sure chicken pox as we haven't been in contact with anyone for 5 weeks and I don't think the incubation period is that long?
