Blimey. She was born at 6lbs 14oz, and has shot up to 21lbs at 5 months old. Exclusively breastfed. Now 90th percentile. Anyone else have a chunky baby?

Yeah, my son weighs this and he is four months old! He looks about eight months old with the chub and length. But he is cute and I love his little rolls.

Don't be concerned, when they can move about a bit better it will come off, your baby is thriving!

Mine is FF and born at 8lbs 7oz.

Hadenoughfornow · 24/04/2020 23:06

I was the opposite. Mines were bruisers when born and the took almost a year to double their weight. He sounds like a healthy little chunk Smile.

*she

And once they start moving it evens out a bit

DS2 was like this, 9 kilos at about 4 or 5 months old! He's just tall. Once he started walking it did level out a bit, but even so he is already 13kg at 20 months. Much bigger than DS1. He doesn't even seem particularly chunky these days, but he is the size of a 2-2.5 year old. I think 86cm tall? Hard to measure them accurately.

Worth noting when you have a big one, the standard sized car seats won't fit them for as long. If you go and buy one of the "to age 4" she might outgrow it at 3 or even younger. You might one want to seek one out that goes up to 25kg instead.

Bet she’s cute. Mine is same age now and probably now approx 6kg but over 75 in length - he looks like he has been stretched.

My DS was born at around 8lbs 1oz. He's always been very skinny and long. And he hit 20lbs at 4 months old (96th percentile) 😳. He's been getting heavier ever since. He's nearly 6 months old and in 9-12month clothing.. in a couple of weeks i suspect I'll be getting him into 12-18 month clothing. He's not chunky but very long.

BigBairyHollocks · 24/04/2020 23:38

My DS was 24lb at 16 weeks-broke my back carrying him.EBF too!

notdoingitanymore · 24/04/2020 23:41

It was a long time ago now, but my little chunk levelled out at 2-3.
Buggy boards were new and has a weight limit of 40. My 2 year old was 38 so I thought it to be a waste of time.
1 year later my 3 year old was only just getting to 40 and I could of had a years good use of the board I thought was not worth it

switswoo81 · 24/04/2020 23:42

Ah lovely. Sure she's not being fed anything else so it's not like your doing anything"wrong"
Am very jealous my 2yr old has just been weighed, 23 pounds she's tiny and has never had rolls at all. Leggings look like harem pants on her.

Love reading about all your cuties. I just realised my baby's oldest brother is 2st 8lbs at 5 years old, and she is 1st 8lbs at 5 months old Smile
