Dark patches 3 year old arms

Hi, was wondering if anyone had any experience with this sort discoloration...
I noticed it about a month ago, was away from home, just managed to get back and not sure if I'll get an appointment with the GP.

My lo is 3 and a half years old and one arm has a lot of these patches and it seems to be spreading further down, her other arm was fine but it now seems it started there too.

We are Pakistani, live in Scotland, been finding things mainly about skin damage because of exposure to the sun, which I very much doubt.

I've attached pics, will try to get to the GP tomorrow but ideally would'nt want to leave the house with her. She doesn't really have any other symptom, apart from the fact that she's always wanting to roll her sleeves up these past few weeks but isn't complaining of any itchyness or pain.

Thanks

Hi there light,

We don't have any idea about this but just wanted to bump this for you in hopes someone will be along soon with experience of this.

I'm on the app so can't see photos. But could it be vitiligo?

Sorry, can't see the pictures. If you google café au lait spots, does it look like those?

Thanks for your replies guys, gave in and took her to the GP who said it's hyperpigmentation caused by eczema. She had eczema on her arms when she was younger, but has been ok for over and a half year, not been using anything in particular either. GP recommend using a gentler laundry detergent and emollients at bath time. Thankfully still no itching or any other symptoms.

Thanks again for taking the time to reply Smile

Glad you have a proper diagnosis. Did the doctor talk about SPF? That could help even out the skin? And good to use anyway!

Hi, my daughter too had something similar on one arm when she was three. We’re given the same advice and it did get better. After couple of years it’s has returned back, and this time we see different patches. There is some skin thickening too around one of the patch, for which they have done biopsy. Results will take 4-6 weeks. This wait is driving me crazy.
