My dd11 has had double vision for 3 years. Started on and off and now constant. Had mri etc and all fine. They tried measuring her for prisms but found it difficult to do so. I’ve no idea why.
She was due to have surgery to realign her eyes as one rolls sharply to the back out of view when both eyes uncovered. (Currently wearing an opaque patch on clear glasses). Her op was cancelled due to covid.

We’ve just had a chat on the phone from consultant who asked a few questions to dd. She’s just announced she can’t see anything as one picture anymore. She used to blink to bring it back to one but that doesn’t work anymore. She also says it doesn’t matter which eye she covers, her vision is tilted and she feels the need to tilt her head. But even the picture still floats about.

This seems to have deteriorated pretty quickly. In January she could see ok and had double vision intermittently.

Should I be worried?

I suspect that her visual system has become unused to using both eyes together / but I’m guessing.
She clearly needs to have the surgery done. Now that things are opening up in the nhs for routine ops / hopefully it’ll be done soon.

Thanks so much. We heard back from the consultant who feels she needs Botox as well as surgery now. Thinking it will be pushed through nos
