Baby red rough skin (rash?) on face

DD2 (4.5 month old) has some rough, dry reddish skin on her face. It started on her forehead a couple of days ago and i thought it was just an extension of her cradle cap (which she has quite a lot of), but today it seems to be between her eyes and a small patch on her cheek as well. None on the rest of her body, and obviously we’ve been isolating so no contact with anyone with rashes. It looks sore with dry skin. I put on childsfarm oil and moisturiser over the last couple of days, but it doesn’t seem to help and i worry that i’m irritating her skin.

Does anyone have any idea what this might be and what i should be doing? I should say that normally i would ask my GP but obviously minor things like this are not currently a reason to go to a sugery, and my HV team have never been anything but useless so i don’t think it’s worth asking them.

You could take a photo to a pharmacists (or take your baby in of you don't want to keep her home). Or maybe post a picture here as there are lots of people with experience of excema etc -- I would only use something unscented and no allergens especially on the face - cetraben type. So many things it could be....teething rash, heat rash, skin irritation etc. Sometimes you need mild hydracortisone (excuse spelling) to sort it out - but really a doctor/nurse would need to prescribe that for a baby.
