Hello,
I'd like to say by saying I am aware Mumsnet is not the place for accurate medical advice and I will call the doctor tomorrow, though they are only doing phone consultations at the moment.
I noticed this morning that my ds has a rash on the inner side of his upper arm. No itching, not raised, no fever, sickness. Absolutely fine. He had a similar one about 2 months ago which gradually faded. Any ideas what it could be? Piriton didn't make it go immediately last time, as I said, over a few days. Online it looks like petechiae.
Any ideas? It doesn't fade when a glass goes over it ( nor did the last one ). Any ideas what this could be? Thanks!

He and his brother were play fighting yesterday, I'm wondering if it the result of a pinch.

I'm definitely no expert but it looks like a bruise to me. If he and his brother were play fighting could it be from that?

NotPawPatrolAgain · 19/04/2020 11:25

It might be, just doesn't look like a normal bruise if you see what I mean. Lots of little spots rather than a purple bruise. He said it doesn't hurt when it is poked. I will keep an eye. Thank you!

Areas like the inner arm can bruise like that, especially if it involved friction.
Similar bruising happens, but in a line, when a child gets pulled by the shirt in rugby matches. It's spotty and red.

Thank you both. You have really put my mind at rest. The last bruise was on the outside of his lower arm by again, could have been caused by his little brother.
I do have mild health anxiety and both of my kids have had mild but unusual health issues in the past so I feel like I am constantly worrying. I feel a lot better now!

That's not a rash? That's a bruise. I get those if I've scratched an itch too much.

TheMostHappy · 19/04/2020 11:38

Looks to me like a friction burn like you get on carpet.

Definitely a bruise!

My daughter had a similar bruise from sucking her skin on her arm. More of a love-bite!
