14 month old trapped wind at night

For the last week and a half, my 14 month LO has been having really bad trapped wind at night. He still has one breastfeed at bedtime, up until now he has burped well after that but for the last 10 days or so I haven't been able to get a burp out of him.

If I try putting him down without a burp, he wakes up crying 1-2 hours later arching his back and sounding "hiccup-y" and gurgly. I spent about 45 minutes last night trying to comfort him, eventually he did three HUGE burps and fell straight back to sleep for the rest of the night! The night before he was awake for about 2 hours until midnight...

Any suggestions on getting burps out before bedtime?

Doesn't seem to be a problem for his afternoon nap, so I wonder if it's his breastfeed at bedtime causing it.

I try patting his back, massaging his tummy at the back, gentle bouncing... none of my usual techniques are working 😭

Put him on his tummy?

Bicycle legs while he lies on his back? Can sometimes get a toot out. Really firm and fast rubbing on his back with the heel of your hand.
